Program

Now in our new location in Maryland, KesherTech offers a highly impressive schedule with all of the activities and ruach you would expect from a premiere summer camp. KesherTech prides itself on its warm & capable staff, and excellent learning rebbeim. Swimming, boating, sports, horseback riding, climbing, campfire kumzitzes, two big trips, plenty of day-trips, robotics with Lego Mindstorms, and memorable melave malkahs are just some of the things you will find on our schedule.

Of course the highlight of our program is the approximately three hours per day devoted to the specialty track of your choice. Each track works separately as a team, but also collaborates on joint camp-wide projects. Campers learn to work together on virtually every aspect of the project, from planning to production. The main joint project this year will be an educational video game with the Video Track contributing the videos, the our newly revamped Computer/Game Design Track contributing the programming, and the Music Track… you guessed it, contributing the soundtrack. So, lots of fun, skill development, and teamwork abound while your son learns and excels in areas he enjoys!

Computer Track

Bring your computer skills to the next level! Under the guidance of our passionate and highly qualified staff, learn serious skills in a variety of computer-related areas. Our very low instructor-to-camper ratio will allow the novice to become acquainted with some of the most cutting edge programs and concepts in computer science while the more experienced will learn advanced techniques and subjects. This track will be broken into two groups. One group will be working on a graphical platform that assists in the creation of sophisticated programs and games. They will also receive an overview of other computer-related skills such as hardware installation & upgrading, and networking. The other group will focus on the nuts and bolts of real serious computer programming. Please call us to discuss which group would be more appropriate for your son. The Computer Track will also spend some time discussing and exploring computer security and other areas. Campers will deepen their understanding and appreciation of many of the technologies, challenges and questions facing businesses and governments around the world; We will have discussions and guest speakers dealing with matters such as open source software, cloud computing (software as a service), and security issues. All campers will also have the opportunity to act in the camp-wide project videos. So, join the Computer Track and have some serious fun learning skills, working as a team with new friends and helping build this year's joint camp-wide projects.

Campers in this track bring their own laptops (PC, not Apple), or, for an additional fee of $250, the camp can provide rental computers. (All computers will be kept in our computer lab, and access to the computers, and their use, will be supervised by our staff.) All software and additional hardware will be provided by the camp.

Photo/Video Track

Roll up your sleeves and put on your director’s hat. It’s show-time! Learn how to use high-end video equipment; Learn professional techniques to shoot videos and edit films. Second-year campers will begin familiarizing themselves with cutting edge, professional software. From storyboarding to production, learn the ins and outs of videography. Our very low instructor-to-camper ratio will assure an enjoyable summer for every participant regardless of their current skills. Join our Photo / Video Track and meet new friends, work as part of a team, and get your creative juices flowing. Play an integral role in producing our joint camp-wide projects, making the videos and helping act in them.

Campers in this track will need to bring their own Apple computer, or we can rent one to you for $350. If the computer your son will be bringing is not a very recent model, please e-mail the specs to us so that we can verify if it will be sufficient.
